Eco friendly kitchen worth showing off!

In this kitchen the main problem was that all the major appliances were grouped together. The fridge was beside the stove and the MW was on the left side of the stove. This made the kitchen look really small. The whole esthetics and functionality changed dramatically by taking away the fridge and inserting it into the existing side pantry. Also the new MW hood was inserted over the range, it freed the counter for more working space. A usable island seating at least four people replaced the table. Also part of the renovation was the raising of the step down family room and improving the look over the fireplace. Antique white PVC cabinets with lacquered look and brown glaze lines. Granite counter and tiled floors. Look at the dazzling contrasting focal point of the kitchen with the 4"x4" back splash tiles installed in diamond and with 4" mixed Travertine and Glass.

Wow!! what a difference a smart design can make.

Old 1960's kitchen with various wall and ceiling types. Originally there were two separate rooms. The wall was removed, so the reason for different ceilings and walls. We fixed the ceilings to be the same, also we found original hardwood floor under two layers of linoleum. We removed the linoleum, re-restored the floor to the original state that was continuing in the living room. We enclosed the fridge on a wall of pantries. Created an island with pots and pans and also hid the microwave in the island because the customer does not use the MW very often. Notice the DW included in the cabs and the angled cab opening the area to the door towards the back yard. Opposite corner toward the living room installed a corner display cabinet meant to be the liquor cab with glasses. Installed a separate cab for the 3 garbage and recycling canisters. The pantry beside the fridge has 6 levels of pullouts. Cabinets are "Cherry" wood on a bided Shaker style for a modern look. The backsplash is travertine 4x4 in diamond shape; the counter is black granite with copper specks "Star galaxy". The stove has a black glass flat top creating a seamless impression. Wow!!

Tremendous Transformation of Small Kitchen

The issue with this post war small kitchen was the cramped appliances (Stove, Fridge and Dishwasher) in same area. The access to the kitchen was from a back hall and a side door going to the basement. The actual kitchen space was 36" between counters and at the end there was the door going to the basement and side entrance. We increased the larger size visual effect by removing half wall and opening access to the kitchen from the front hall. Relocated the appliances and installed maple "Shaker" style cabinets "Honey Apple" colored. The counter is a laminate counter however the counter edge is done on "Corian" to create a great granite-like look. New appliances, sink and faucet and modern pendant lights over the open counter. The new kitchen looks much larger and is practical and delightful with a lot of storage space and a well-lit feel.

Just better organized and what a kitchen!

This was a large kitchen but badly organized. The customer wanted to eliminate a wall separating the hall from the garage and kitchen. After removing the wall and rearranging the appliances into a more workable position, the final result was fascinating. The granite counter was shaped on a tear shape to accommodate up to 4 people to eat on the counter. Also the massive 36" fridge was incorporated into a pantry that was installed forward to eliminate the unsightly image of the fridge sticking out. The cabinets are of PVC with brown glaze; the counter is "Ubatuba granite". Under the corner sink we installed a two-bucket garbage pullout and a garburator. A Lazy Suzan installed in corner for easy access and a pull out tray holder by the dishwasher. Also included on this job were TV and telephone cable, and surround sound speakers controlled from behind the fridge from a small control panel.

The rich wood elegance on display.

The original major mistake in this kitchen was the angled peninsula. It created a strange area on this beautiful large house and kitchen. By removing the protruding closet from the other side we increased the wall space and accordingly could have a large refrigerator and pantry storage. The raised bas style covered the sink area and the DW. in this particular kitchen the wood rope decoration were adorning the cabinets and the crown moldings. The supporting bar "Corbels" with the fluted columns is gracing the kitchen with elegance and style.

Delightful and stylish kitchen!

The customer request was to design this kitchen so they can have a better view outside into their large backyard. Therefore a basic request was to increase the size of the window. We have done more; we have moved the eating area table from the back of the room to the front. The major change is the large bay window replacing the small one. This has shifted the focus of the kitchen to the window overlooking the garden. The eating table was brought forward and the big appliances and pantry were moved towards back. The cabinets are PVC antique white with brown glazing. The appliances were split having stove and MW to the right with plenty of workable counter space while sink and dishwasher to the left also with lots of counter. The fridge is at the back creating a perfect working triangle with a great look and bright result. The old hardwood floor was removed and new floor tiles, granite counter and tumble marble backsplash completes this wonderful kitchen. The view of the garden is incredible.

This kitchen was in need of a new-design.

The cabinets were from original builders and the counter was a well used laminate. Then came the wallpaper; green and dated it had seen better days and times. To change the kitchen the first thing to do was to remove the old kitchen including the wallpaper. The new design of the kitchen had taken in consideration the massive refrigerator that was over whelming the area. Cabinets were placed in the same layout as the old kitchen, however the new pantries were deeper than standard to make the massive refrigerator flash and less overwhelming also the pantries created a large amount of cabinet space. The less deep pantry by the patio door became a broom closet. The upper glass cabinets created a show case display and a classy look. To increase the class and style the counter is granite and the backsplash tumbled marble in a diamond pattern. Complete new lighting with pot lights, valance lighting and all the plugs changed displaying a modern look.

Kitchen with remarkable color combination and style!

Penthouse condo kitchen renovated with maple "Shaker" style cabs. Cabinets are blush maple; and the crown, light valance and the toe kick are dark burgundy to accentuate this great looking kitchen. The counter is dark granite with Mahogany shades of color, perfectly matching the cabinets’ trims. The accent in this kitchen is the suspended glass cabinets with front and back opening doors and two wine coolers on the lower cabinets. The customer was entertaining a lot and required space for wine and glasses and a serving counter for the other areas. On the request from the owner the backsplash was applied all the way to the ceiling creating a impressive look. The emphasis was put on the area above the stove with a designed border. To match the counter the selected floor is marble tiles with salmon colored veins. This was extended to all the areas of hallways, laundry, bathrooms and closets. The effect is quite dramatic and elegant.

Simple but efficient and elegant.

Originally country looking kitchen with the standard 1980's white melamine with wood trim was replaced by the PVC honey maple look. The pillow style doors are giving this kitchen the modern simplicity look, while increasing the storage space by over 50%. The glass table and the clean look of the display wall is a far cry from the country bench look of the original kitchen.
